Alibaba’s pockets run deep … just ask the New York Liberty.

With the Brooklyn Nets’ season in full swing, and the Liberty’s first full campaign at Barclays Center coming around the bend, Liberty and Nets owner Joe Tsai continues to add to his already vast sports portfolio.

Tsai has made an investment in Berlin-based esports company G2 Esports to the tune of $10 million and a 10% stake. The company is looking to expand in China and the deal includes the opening of a New York office.

The announcement was made by G2 Esports on Wednesday.

Outside of the Liberty, Nets, G-League Long Island Nets and Barclays Center, Tsai’s investments also include the National Lacrosse League’s San Diego Seals and a stake in MLS’ Los Angeles FC.
