Liberty to host Juneteenth virtual panel with Layshia Clarendon, Angela Yee, Rapsody

Among the many things the New York Liberty have exceled at over the years have been basketball, community service and wanting to be a force for change.

With renewed attention on the Black Lives Matter movement and police brutality of Black people, the Liberty will host a star-studded panel on June 19th centering on the power Black people have and the importance of the Black vote.

The panel will be led by Angela Yee, co-host of the Breakfast Club, syndicated through iHeartMedia’s Premiere Radio Networks and based at Power 105.1. It will also include current Liberty player Layshia Clarendon, the Brooklyn Nets’ Garrett Temple, justice reform activist Topeka K. Sam and Grammy-nominated rapper Rapsody, who did New York’s Liberty Loud theme song last season.

Those planning on attending the virtual seminar can register and will be emailed a link at 9 a.m. that Friday. The event will occur itself at 3 p.m.
