This can be described as the ultimate act of “Show Up.”
New York City has become the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States with the U.S. having the dubious distinction of now being the nation with more cases than anywhere else in the world.
Anyone who has watched New York governor Andrew Cuomo’s press conference has seen that he has expressed frustration that the Empire State has not received the supplies it needs to save more lives and eventually “flatten the curve.”
With Cuomo being stiffed at the federal level, states such as Oregon are now assisting New York in its Covid-19 efforts. New York Liberty owner Joe Tsai is also aiding Cuomo and the state as well as the governor announced at Saturday’s briefing that Tsai is donating 1,000 ventilators to New York State.
We finally got some good news today.
The Chinese government helped facilitate a donation of 1,000 ventilators that will arrive in JFK today.
I thank the Chinese government, Jack Ma, Joe Tsai, the Jack Ma Foundation, the Tsai Foundation and Consul General Huang.

Cuomo also had this announcement to share.
NEW: The @NBA is contributing 1 million desperately needed surgical masks for New York’s essential workers in collaboration with @nyknicks, @BrooklynNets and China’s Consul General Huang Ping.
New York thanks you.
We are beyond grateful for this gift of critically needed PPE.
