The Minnesota Lynx’s Lindsay Whalen appears to be another in the athletes-turned-analysts realm – or at least she appears to be setting herself up for potentially going that route.
Fox Sports North, the Lynx, and Timberwolves announced Whalen would be joining FS North for eight T’Wolves contests this year. The first one she was part of was this past Wednesday when Minnesota took on – and defeated – the Los Angeles Clippers by a final of 113-107.
The other days Whalen will grace basketball fans of the upper Midwest with her television presence – December 12 (home vs. Philadelphia 76ers), January 1 (home vs. Los Angeles Lakers), January 14 (home vs. Portland Trail Blazers), February 7 (on road at Cleveland Cavaliers) February 23 (on road at Houston Rockets) March 2 (on road at Utah Jazz) and April 5 (on road at Denver Nuggets).
On Timberwolves telecasts she will be alongside play-by-play announcer Dave Benz as well as color analyst Jim Petersen who was also a former Lynx assistant coach.
It’s actually pretty tough to do, but the pros make it look easy.
–Lindsay Whalen per Minneapolis Star-Tribune
I love the NBA, I love basketball and being around one of my former coaches and one of the guys who did a lot for me.
