Huge congratulations are in order for Indiana Fever star forward Tamika Catchings!
Tamika has been selected as one of the inductees in the 2015 women’s class of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. Along with the induction, Tamika received the Indiana Fever Silver Medal for her work with Indiana high school basketball. On April 25th, 2015, Tamika, as well as Fever alum Vicki Hall, will be inducted at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Museum, followed by the 14th Annual Women’s Awards Banquet later that evening at the Primo Banquet Hall in Indianapolis.
Tamika, who announced her plans to retire after the 2016 season, will enter her 14th WNBA season this June. In addition to having a very impressive professional resume- 2012 WNBA champion and Finals MVP, 3X Olympic gold medalist, 9x WNBA All-Star, and 5X Defensive Player of the Year just to name a few, her off-the-court dedication to the Indiana community is where she shines brightest. Her community service accolades include her commitment to the WNBA “Dribble to Stop Diabetes” initiative, as well as works with the Pacers Foundation and her own foundation, the Catch the Stars Foundation, which uses mentorship, literacy, and fitness to empower our youth.
Well deserved in an understatement! Tamika is a world-class athlete, community leader, and woman who serves as the perfect role model to men and women across all ages and walks of life. Congrats to you Tamika!!!
