It goes without saying that the Minnesota Lynx’s Maya Moore is one of the premier players in women’s basketball on a global scale—not only in the WNBA. This was proven when Moore was named by the league as one of its 20@20 greatest players in its history.
She did an interview for the multimedia page for Beyond Meat, a Southern California-based maker of meat alternatives based in plants, where she talked not only basketball but food as well.

She cited her mom as being an influential figure in pushing her to think about what she wanted to do a few years down the line. Moore says that when she started high school that things began to become more real as she hoped to pursue a scholarship and she was being recruited.
She mentioned that her focus began to turn exclusively towards basketball, but she did partake in other sports.
Moore then talked about how her transition into being a professional basketball player also had to come with sacrifices made away from the hardwood to elevate her play.

As I got to be a pro, and you start to see the effects of the fuel that you’re putting into your body, on your overall feel, I want to be, you know, the top of the top.
She also recently spoke to kids at The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Greenville, South Carolina at a Coaches 4 Character event. and encouraged them to pursue their passions in basketball, sports in general, or any other walk of life.
I worked hard and doors were opened, and I’m able to live out my dream now.
Moore called the event in Greenville “one of the most unique recruiting experiences” she has encountered.
