While no schedule has been announced by the WNBA and it is yet to be seen if that schedule involves a return to home arenas, the Phoenix Mercury have tipped its hand on its intent for the 2021 season.

Not only are the Mercury looking forward to returning to its Arizona home court, but to its primary Phoenix home court of Phoenix Suns Arena – formerly Talking Stick Resort Arena that recently underwent a renovation.

The Mercury were slated to play its 2020 home games at Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum prior to the entire WNBA moving to the IMG Academy bubble last season.

Climate Pledge Arena – home of the Seattle Storm and Bankers Life Fieldhouse – the home court of the Indiana Fever – are two other WNBA venues undergoing facelifts.

The Mercury have been a consistent draw at its home venue for much of its history – having Diana Taurasi, arguably the GOAT, helps with that. Phoenix was one of only two teams that averaged at least 10,000 fans for the 2019 season – the Los Angeles Sparks at Staples Center were the other.
