USA Basketball announced that Napheesa Collier, Stefanie Dolson, Allisha Gray and Kelsey Plum will comprise the four-woman roster that will compete in the FIBA 3×3 Qualifying Tournament next month in India.
The top three women’s teams will advance to Tokyo for the Games.
In November, FIBA unveiled its 3×3 international rankings with Team USA on top of said rankings. Carol Callan was part of USA Basketball’s Women’s Selection Committee while Kara Lawson, currently an assistant with the Boston Celtics was on the selection committee for the men’s 3×3 team. That team includes Robbie Hummel, Canyon Barry, Dominique Jones and Kareem Maddox.
The USA women’s team will be in Group A with France, Germany, Uruguay and Indonesia. Group B comprises Iran, Japan, Ukraine, Australia and Turkmenistan. Netherlands, Estonia, Hungary, Sri Lanka and Belarus will make up Group C and Italy, Taipei, Switzerland, India and Spain forming Group D.
