Obama to honor WNBA champion Lynx at White House Monday

The Minnesota Lynx have become very familiar with the insides of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. After winning championships in 2011 and 2013, it earned them a visit to the White House where they were recognized by President Barack Obama.

The Lynx will get to visit the President one more time this week.

Minnesota will be making the visit to the White House the day after their road game against D.C.’s home team, the Mystics, at the Verizon Center.

As we all know, the POTUS is one busy man—even in his final year of his two terms of office. But we also know that Mr. Obama is one major basketball fan who knows good hoops when he sees it (and who has even supposedly discussed becoming an NBA team owner once he, Michelle, Sasha, and Malia leave 1600!)
