More congratulations are in order for one of UConn’s most notable athletic figures.
Rebecca Lobo, currently an analyst with ESPN, was announced as one of six recipients of the 2020 NCAA Silver Anniversary Award.

Other recipients of the Silver Anniversary Award include Carla Ainsworth, Stewart Cink, Darren Eales, Jenny Thompson and Adam Vinatieri.
Lobo as well as the other award recipients will be recognized on Jan. 22 when the NCAA holds its Honors Celebration at its Convention in Anaheim.
Her list of accomplishments include UConn’s first unbeaten season, a national title in 1995 and recognition as that year’s Final Four Most Outstanding Player. Lobo was also the 1995 AP Female Athlete of the Year, won an ESPY for Outstanding Female Athlete and was also named NCAA Woman of the Year.
The following year, Lobo was part of the USA Basketball team that won a gold medal at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
Lobo is a member of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017. Her number was the first to be retired at UConn.
