We may not have to do many “Where are they Now?” pieces chronicling the life and times of Renee Montgomery after the WNBA because it looks like Montgomery will be very visible in life after the W.
Montgomery recently announced her retirement from the WNBA, but she is still receiving her well-deserved flowers. Time Magazine recently unveiled its 2021 Time100 list and, low and behold, there is Montgomery right there in full effect.
So humbled to be named to the 2021 @TIME 100 Next ⏭ When I said the marathon will continue, I meant it. #MomentsEqualMomentum ✨https://t.co/tKPX8gPqph

And if that was not enough of an honor, look who had the privilege of writing Montgomery’s piece for Time100 – Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.
I can’t handle that my mayor @KeishaBottoms is over here talking about me! 🤯 Atlanta has always been the city of culture & leaders and I’m so happy to call it home 🪴 #TrueToAtlanta https://t.co/uw1aof9q7N

As Psalms reminds us, weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. In the spirit of all that Congressman Lewis left with us, Renee is an inspirational leader, part of a new generation embodying the conscience of our communities.
–Keisha Lance Bottoms, mayor of Atlanta (Time)
This appears to be only a much-deserved beginning to what is sure to be a memorable second act…
