With so much in flux, WNBA fans everywhere are on pins and needles waiting for announcements regarding several traditional marquee events on the W’s calendar – including, of course, the start of the season.
While no schedule has been revealed yet, a report from Sports Media Watch and Her Hoop Stats appears to indicate that the 2021 WNBA draft will air on ESPN on April 15.
ESPN scheduled to air WNBA Draft live in primetime April 15 (a Thursday). Looks like full, two-hour draft (8-10 PM ET).
Prior to last year, the draft typically aired for one hour on ESPN2 before dropping down to ESPNU for the conclusion.

The draft being on that date would have it roughly a week and a half to two weeks after the conclusion of the Women’s Final Four in San Antonio.
The five-team blockbuster trade earlier in the offseason involving the Dallas Wings, New York Liberty, Seattle Storm, Minnesota Lynx and Phoenix Mercury gave the Wings the first overall pick which New York originally won via the lottery. Dallas already had the second overall selection.
Lines.com’s latest mock draft has Dallas selecting big Charli Collier with the first overall pick. Collier plays for Texas, meaning the pick would keep Collier in the Lone Star State.
