The Washington Mystics have done it again.
First it was the deal that sent Kia Vaughn and Bria Hartley to the Liberty. Then, it was the blockbuster trade with the Chicago Sky that sent Elena Delle Donne to the Nation’s Capital.
Now, Washington, according to reports, has landed one of the league’s most proficient three-point threats with the signing of Kristi Toliver to the team.
Toliver was an important ingredient in the Los Angeles Sparks’ recipe for its first championship since 2002, won last year in a thrilling 3-2 WNBA Finals win over the Minnesota Lynx.
She averaged over 13 points last year and shot a robust 41 percent from three-point range. Toliver is also no stranger to the D.C. area as she led her alma mater, Maryland, to a national championship in 2006.
At this point, it is safe to say that a year after missing out on the postseason that Coach Mike Thibault and the Mystics look to be back with a vengeance in 2017.
