If you are a Connecticut Sun fan, you probably would like to forget what happened in Game 2 of the team’s semifinal contest with the Las Vegas Aces.

Late turnovers, a shoulder injury to Alyssa Thomas and A’ja Wilson looking like the league MVP she is all equaled the Aces evening up its semifinal tilt with the Sun at one apiece.

Not to mention, there were lingering concerns as to if Thomas would even play in Game 3 because of what happened in Game 2. Initially, she was ruled out, then upgraded to questionable.

Before we knew it, not only No. 25 for Connecticut practicing and playing, Curt Miller gave her the start – and she did anything but disappoint.

Thomas scored 23 points with 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Brionna Jones added a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds as well. DeWanna Bonner tallied 12 with 10 rebounds. Jasmine Thomas also scored 10 points with six assists, five rebounds plus a pair of steals.

For the Aces, Wilson led with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Angel McCoughtry helped with 14 points and seven rebounds plus three assists. Danielle Robinson scored 11.

The pregame statements that were given by both Jasmine Thomas and Napheesa Collier were much more important, for obvious reasons, than any result of any game, particularly given the Breonna Taylor news out of Louisville.

As far as what happened on-court itself, the Seattle Storm, after a nail-biter with the Minnesota Lynx in Game 1 looked like the wire-to-wire top seed they were in the regular season by virtue of its 89-79 victory over the Lynx.

Jewell Loyd finished with 20 points and five rebounds. Breanna Stewart added 17 points with eight boards and seven dimes plus three steals. Alysha Clark added 13 points with five assists and Natasha Howard contributed 11 points and seven rebounds.

Damiris Dantas scored 23 points with seven rebounds. Odyssey Sims finished with 18 points plus five rebounds, four steals and four assists. Napheesa Collier scored 12 and Crystal Dangerfield tallied 10 with seven assists.
