Congratulations are certainly in order for the Dallas Wings’ Skylar Diggins-Smith and her husband, former Notre Dame football player Daniel Smith as the Wings’ star tweeted a video on Instagram of her ultrasound of her baby.
She notably was not on the USA Basketball roster for the FIBA World Cup in Tenerife, Spain. Now, we have a definitive answer as to why.
As Diggins-Smith prepares to welcome her bundle of joy into the world, the questions on how this will affect the Wings 2019 season have already began.
She will at least miss some of next season and it is still up in the air as to if Liz Cambage will return to the WNBA. The result of the CBA negotiations between the WNBA and its union may go a long way in determining that.
That is a bridge that will eventually be crossed. In the meantime, further congratulations to Skylar and her family!
Awwwww! Thank you SO much, girls! ❤️❤️❤️ https://t.co/qsVFIKpsgO

While she and her husband prepare to welcome their little one into the world, another WNBA hooper has already received her visit from the stork.
The Minnesota Lynx’s Rebekkah Brunson and her wife Bobbi Jo Lamar Brunson gave birth to Graham Matteo Lamar Brunson a few weeks ago.
The news had made the rounds on social media for weeks and it prompted a congratulatory tweet from the Lynx.
