The January issue of Diva Magazine, a leading publication in Europe aimed at lesbian women is sure to be a hot ticket among basketball fans on the continent.

In the portion of the interview available online, she talked about how her sister was very influential in her early years in getting her into sports.
I was maybe four or five. Every dead ball situation, anytime the court was clear, I’d go running out there and try to shoot the ball as many times as I could.

Bird also mentioned how she has had to find creative ways to win throughout her career given her size. Those creative methods have worked for her given she is a two-time WNBA champion as well as a four-time Olympic gold medal winner.
