One of our favorite women’s sports power couples was honored last week at the Golden State Warriors’ annual LGBTQ Night.
Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe were guests of honor for the festivities for the Dubs’ annual celebration of LGBTQ culture. The annual occasion, which was an often-anticipated day on the schedule for games at Oracle Arena made its way across the Bay into Chase Center.

Bird rang the cable car bell which has become part of Warriors pregame ceremonies at Chase Center – a return to when the franchise did similar pregame ceremonies as the San Francisco Warriors. Golden State president Rick Welts then presented both Bird and Rapinoe with custom Warriors jerseys.
The two later took part in an LGBTQ panel at the arena. Meena Harris, the CEO of Phenomenal Woman Action Campaign and Head of Strategy and Leadership for Uber, moderated the panel.
