Every February is Black History Month. February has since segued into March, but, of course, learning about and celebrating Black history is something that is done all year round, not only during February.
When talking to WDIV-TV Channel 4 in Detroit, Swin Cash—who during her WNBA playing days was a member of the Detroit Shock—mentioned why Coretta Scott King is an inspiration to her.
Cash talked about how Coretta Scott King was not only an activist, as was her husband, the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., but how she fought for a national holiday honoring her husband.
Even today in our society, we still hear great things about all of her works and her writing that are appearing back in our political system.
