What players decide to do after their careers conclude can be a mixed bag. Some go the television or radio analyst route while others pursue ventures completely outside of sports.
Tamika Catchings, to say the least, is remaining active even after her playing days have concluded. In addition to landing a gig as an SEC Network analyst and her continued work with her Catch the Stars Foundation, she now is the owner of a tea shop in Indianapolis.
The Tea’s Me Café is one Catchings used to go to when it opened about a decade ago, per the Indianapolis Star. Catch says tea is her go-to drink and that she and her sister grew up drinking tea with her mother.
People that know me know that I drink a lot of tea.

The previous owners were planning on closing shop on Tea’s Me and moving it to a different location. That’s when Catchings crunched the numbers to ensured the location remained as is.
She says little will change about Tea’s Me except that it will be open longer, retail items may be included, and it may also be a spot for spoken word poetry sessions. She also will likely develop her own blend.
Catchings also said she is not interested in putting sports memorabilia on the Tea’s Me walls, but knows having her as the owner may make it more of a local hotspot.
I do know people are going to hold me to a higher standard.

A grand re-opening of Tea’s Me is scheduled for 11a-3p on April 8.
