It is somewhat surreal (as well as exciting) to know that we are only a little over a month away from tip-off of the 21st WNBA season. We all have our calendars marked for May 13 in big bold print signifying another season of W hoops is upon us.

NBA players watch the WNBA and many are fans of women’s basketball in general. One of those is Devin Booker—the up and coming star for the Phoenix Suns. He says he has attended a number of Mercury games and that Brittney Griner and her Mercury players have supported the Suns just as much.

It is true entertainment.

If you want to learn the fundamentals of basketball—I always watch women’s basketball. Everyone knows how to dribble, shoot, pass. They know how to play the game the right way.

He went on to praise Mercury fans for providing a notable home court advantage for the team.

I joke with my friends sometimes, well it might be true. Some of the atmospheres at their games might be a little better than ours.

Booker also believes the competition in the WNBA reminds him a lot of its big brother league. All of this coming from someone who once noticeably dropped 70 points on the Boston Celtics a few weeks ago.

They’re true athletes and they’re true competitors.
