The definition of champion in any dictionary ought to include Maya Moore’s face at this point. She has won at virtually every level of basketball she has played at and she added another championship to her storied resume as her UMMC Ekaterinburg FIBA Euroleague team won its Final Four, defeating Sopron by a final of 72-53.
Moore concluded the game with 17 points and seven assists. Another name that is very familiar to many a WNBA aficionado is Emma Meeseman who scored 19 and hauled in nine rebounds, being named MVP.
Brittney Griner also contributed 16 points to UMMC Ekaterinburg’s cause.

Now that another season is in the books and a championship has been won by the Russia-based UMMC Ekaterinburg, Moore, Griner, and Kristi Toliver will return stateside as they prepare to suit of for their respective WNBA teams. Meeseman is sitting out this season as she focuses on playing for Belgium in the FIBA World Cup.
