As the reigning WNBA champions, the Washington Mystics needed a championship ring that was fitting of its newfound status – especially since it is the first championship in the organization’s history.

Low and behold … the Mystics, thanks to Jostens, were crafted a ring fitting of said newfound status.

A ceremony was held to present the rings at the Salamander Resort in Loudoun County, Virginia.

Our season was historic, extending beyond the records they broke along their journey. They played in their new, dedicated home at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Ward 8, created lasting memories and inspired fans to forge deeper bonds in our community and dream bigger.

Thank you to Jostens for continuing great work for us as they have now designed our three most recent championship rings, each telling a unique and personal story for the NHL Washington Capitals, the AFL Washington Valor and now the WNBA Washington Mystics.

The Mystics’ ring includes six sapphires and six rubies that denote Washington’s 12 players with a round sapphire that denotes coach Mike Thibault. Six diamonds are in the title trophy that represent the six games Washington won en route to the WNBA championship. It also has 29 rubies that symbolize every game the Mystics won in 2019. Eight sapphires are an ode to Ward 8 – where the Entertainment and Sports Arena is located.

Also included in the ring is each player’s name and jersey number as well as the WNBA logo and DC landmarks such as the Washington Monument, U.S. Capitol and Lincoln Memorial. It also includes “Run It Back,” the Mystics’ 2019 season motto, the team logo and a commemoration of its franchise-best 26-8 mark it set last season.
