Wednesday, September 23 was a sadly historic day.
For over 100 days, since the police killing of Breonna Taylor in Louisville, the calls have been loud and often for the three officers involved in her murder to be arrested and indicted.
That day – the announcement came. No murder charges and virtually no indictments related to her killing. The lone officer who was charged received wanton endangerment charges completely unrelated to Taylor’s murder.
In many ways, the 2020 WNBA season has been dedicated to the life and legacy of the late Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old first responder. Her name has been on the back of every WNBA player’s jersey and the Black Lives Matter message has been prominently featured at the WNBA’s Florida IMG Academy courts.
When the news broke, the reaction ranged from a lack of surprise to utter disappointment.
Disappointed & disgusted. My heart goes out to Ms Tamika Palmer & the rest of Breonna’s family #JusticeforBreonnaTalyor
Please vote! Everyone!

police don’t knock and shoot up anyone’s house , someone is murdered for no reason and they are free . No justice for Breonna Taylor’s murder. Is this what our country is about? No justice for Trayvon martin and many others

Bullshit!

This is why police need to be defunded and ultimately abolished! We time and time again hope for a sliver of justice but why would we get that when the system is designed to protect the very folks that are murdering and terrorizing us. This isn’t a bad apple, it’s a rotten tree.

So thankful tonite for the women of the WNBA. Today was sad, infuriating & disheartening. But I’m going to keep listening to our players, standing right beside them. We will fight like hell for real change. For as long as it takes.
First and foremost, VOTE.
