This year’s WNBA Draft did not only air on the networks of ESPN in the states.
For the first time, Canadians also got to enjoy the draft as it aired on ESPN’s partner in crime north of the border.
TSN2, virtually the equivalent to ESPN2 in Canada also aired the WNBA Draft. Given Canada’s standing as an international power in women’s basketball, it should have peaked the interest of many a hoops fan from Vancouver to Montreal and all points in between.
Canadian Bridget Carleton, who played her college ball at Iowa State was selected in the second round by the Connecticut Sun. Last year, another Canadian in Kia Nurse was selected in the first round by the New York Liberty.
