To commemorate this year’s National Girls and Women in Sports Day, the WNBA held a clinic at MS 363 in The Bronx where several from the W met with girls from the school and participated in activities that included basketball and football.

Dallas Wings forward Azura Stevens, former player Taj McWilliams-Franklin and Bethany Donaphin, the head of WNBA League Operations took part in the clinic.

The day was not only one of encouraging girls and women to believe in themselves athletically, but also outside of the realm of sports as well in attaining success in life overall.

Other teams did their part as well. Elite Sports NY reported the New York Liberty hosted girls from a Brooklyn non profit, took part in an arts and crafts session at the Brooklyn Nets practice facility and were treated to a Nets game at Barclays Center.
