WNBA pushes back start of free agency talks to Jan. 28, players can sign Feb. 10

With the conclusion of the collective bargaining agreement occurring just before the Jan. 15 deadline, it has had a domino effect on the beginning of the WNBA’s free agency period.

In a short release, the WNBA announced that teams could begin negotiations with free agents such as Skylar Diggins-Smith and Angel McCoughtry on Jan. 28.

Players can start inking contracts with those teams starting on Feb. 10.

The start of free agency was scheduled to begin on Jan. 15 with the free agent signing period starting on Feb. 1.
