One of the WNBA’s latest initiatives involves it planting its orange flag on park courts across the nation – or should we say its orange line.

The W recently debuted the Line ‘Em Up campaign which is an effort place its orange 3-point line at courts at outdoor parks around the country. Per a press release, the aim is to “bring the women’s professional game closer to communities.”

Along with the painting of these orange 3-point arcs, the WNBA also says it will be making donations to various courts.

A launch event was held this past Thursday at Brooklyn Bridge Park 2. It included remarks from Phil Cook, Chief Marketing Officer of the WNBA as well as Bethany Donaphin who heads WNBA League Operations. There were also guest appearances from New York Liberty players in addition to a 5-on-5 contest between two area basketball organizations.

In addition to the launch event, the WNBA also released a launch video touting the effort and includes appearances from W luminaries such as Sue Bird, Tina Charles, Epiphanny Prince and Chamique Holdsclaw.

The video also includes an appearance from Alex Taylor, founder of Hoop York City and Sharon “Ms. B” Bond, the Chief Operating Officer at Dyckman Basketball.

Four New York courts are mentioned as either feature or will feature the orange 3-point line, per the Line ‘Em Up website. Brooklyn Bridge Park is one with the other currently being Rockefeller Battery Park in Lower Manhattan.

The two that the website says will eventually include the orange 3-point line are Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park near West Harlem and Bolden Mack Park in Amityville on Long Island.
