Not too long ago, SI released a list of some of the most powerful women in sports and there was more than plenty of WNBA on that list.
Sports Illustrated’s list read like a who’s who of women’s sports luminaries. When you are on a list that includes Billie Jean King, Megan Rapinoe, Simone Manuel, Simone Biles, Naomi Osaka, Serena Williams and Coco Gauff, you are doing something right in women’s sports.
The WNBA contingency on that list includes Maya Moore, Candace Parker (Los Angeles Sparks), Cheryl Reeve (Minnesota Lynx), Keia Clarke (New York Liberty CEO), Becky Hammon (San Antonio Spurs assistant coach), A’ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces), Natasha Cloud (Washington Mystics), Doris Burke (ESPN), Nneka Ogwumike (Los Angeles Sparks) and Terri Jackson (Executive Director of the WNBPA).
Also among the notables on the list were Michele Roberts (executive director of the NBPA), Muffet McGraw (former coach at Notre Dame) and Mikaela Shiffrin.
Congrats to @Nnemkadi30 & @Candace_Parker for being named to @SInow‘s ‘The Unrelenting’ 👏
