With intrigue regarding the collective bargaining agreement still present, the WNBPA displayed that it is a stable body as talks move on with the announcement that Nneka Ogwumike (Los Angeles Sparks) and Layshia Clarendon (Connecticut Sun) will remain on their roles as president and first vice president.
Ogwumike and Clarendon were also elected to the same positions in 2016.
This is a role that’s afforded me a special opportunity to lead in and to leave a legacy.
–Nneka Ogwumike, president, WNBPA (per press release)
This is one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever had yet take so much pride in representing and fighting for every player in this league.

Who run the world?!

With the reelection of both Ogwumike and Clarendon, WNBA fans and media alike remain on CBA watch for the latest on the talks between the league and union.
Both sides recently announced an extension of the deadline for a new CBA up until Dec. 31.
