The Hartford Athletic of the United Soccer League were in search of a new chief executive officer to replace its previous interim president.

That find concluded with the Athletic organization tapping an executive with experience within a WNBA team’s front office taking the job.

The organization announced that Jim Burda was named its new CEO and most previously had experience launching the National Lacrosse League’s New York Riptide. He was the chief revenue officer and vice president of marketing partnerships for the Chicago Sky for four years until 2019.

According to the Hartford Business Journal, the organization made mention of his success with the Sky in growing its number of sponsorships.
