Free agent Jamierra Faulkner, who has spent her entire WNBA career with the Chicago Sky, will not see the court in 2020 as she continues to battle a knee injury.

In a video that she posted on her YouTube channel, she said she will not be playing basketball this summer.

Her latest injury came while playing overseas for UMMC Ekaterinburg. She was chosen by the Sky in the third round of the 2014 WNBA draft out of Southern Mississippi.

To me, it’s for my sanity. It’s for my own sanity, for my mental health as well as my physical health.

Some people are going to respect this decision and some people aren’t, but it doesn’t matter to me … I made a very great decision.

While she will not be taking the court this year, she said in the video that she plans to attend a few Sky games this season.
