Among many other things, Kobe Bryant, formerly of the Los Angeles Lakers, is an avid fan of the WNBA. He is courtside at many a WNBA game, primarily for the Los Angeles Sparks and is definitely well-entrenched as one of the biggest advocates of the league.
So his opinion will hold much water when he comments on the W, and in his opinion, three of the WNBA’s best could play in the NBA.
The names he mentioned were Maya Moore (who will sit out her second consecutive season to attend to the criminal justice matter involving Jonathan Irons), Elena Delle Donne (Washington Mystics) and Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Mercury).
He was asked this after an interview with CNN where he mentioned if there was a future for his daughter in the NBA.

While Moore, Taurasi and Delle Donne’s credentials in basketball are unquestioned – all have won championships, all have won Olympic gold medals and all are future Hall of Famers (Women’s and Naismith), they also do not need to be validated by saying they could play in the NBA.
It is the same tag that Brittney Griner and others have received in their WNBA careers – that they needed further validation via the NBA. While the compliment is much-appreciated as is the Black Mamba’s support of the Sparks and the W, their careers speak for themselves.
Anyone else find it weird how Kobe Bryant seems to be the voice of the WNBA this offseason? https://t.co/YhvyD3wMKU

Well said. Kobe’s answer sucks. The question itself sucks. The WNBA doesn’t need an NBA spin to be interesting. https://t.co/8ERmY4tQBU
