Former Miami Sol player Ruth Riley has become the latest addition to the radio and television teams for broadcasts of the Miami Heat.

She takes over for John Crotty who is assuming a larger role on the television side. Her schedule will include working radio broadcasts along with appearances on the Heat’s television coverage which can be seen on Fox Sports Florida.

Riley was drafted in the 2001 WNBA Draft by the Sol in one of its only two seasons in existence. Her career spanned several other teams, including the San Antonio Stars, where she also was that team’s general manager before its relocation to Las Vegas.

She was part of two WNBA championship-winning Detroit Shock teams in 2003 and 2006.
