Not much has to be said about this one. In Team USA’s exhibition matchup against Canada, a lot of offense was played and a lot of defense was played by the team. The result—an emphatic 83-43 victory against Team Canada.

Diana Taurasi’s 14 points, Elena Delle Donne’s 12, and Lindsay Whalen’s 11 led the way scoring-wise for Team USA. They also were boosted by a robust shooting percentage of nearly 54 percent from the field while holding Canada to only 33 percent.

They also were responsible for a litany of Canada miscues, including 12 steals, and five blocks.

The rout was on for Team USA early in this game as it was 19-6 after the end of one quarter. Canada’s point output for the game was 43. Team USA’s for the half was 44 which included eight points each by Taurasi and Delle Donne. Team USA led 44-20 at the half.

At the end of three quarters, it was Team USA 65-25. At that point, the question was no longer whether or not Team USA would win the game—it was how big the point margin would be.

Team USA’s final exhibition matchup prior to the Rio Olympics will be against Australia on Sunday.
